Join the SFU/UBC student volunteer team at the sixth annual Business Career Expo on Feb. 13th 2009! Qualified candidates will be required to attend one of 2 training sessions before they can secure their position as a volunteer. One training session to be offered at SFU and another at UBC in early February. Description of volunteer roles and requirements provided below.

Benefits:

• Be part of the largest business focused career fair in BC! Business Career Expo attracts over a hundred employers and nearly a thousand students from SFU Business and Sauder School of Business, UBC. Great volunteer experience to put on your resume!

• Utilize/develop a variety of event management skills/experience such as problem solving, communication, client service, organization, ability to work on a team, trouble shoot solutions and work in fast paced environments.

• Meet and work closely with 40 + student peers from SFU Business and Sauder School of Business, UBC. All volunteer roles require teamwork however a few leadership roles will be available for qualified candidates. Volunteer roles will be determined at training session.

• Meet and network with over 100 employers from across Canada and the U.S. including more than 400 company representatives during one-on-one assistance with exhibitor check in/move-in/move-out and a portion of the career fair.

• Volunteers may request a reference letter after the event. Volunteers will be recognized for their contribution and will receive a reference letter from the SFU Business career management centre upon request provided that they fulfilled the minimum requirements of their duties at the event.

• Complimentary lunch and Business Career Expo branded Volunteer t-shirts will be yours to keep at the end of the show!

Qualified candidates will be contacted between Dec 15 - 17 2008 and invited to interviews that will take place at SFU’s Burnaby Mountain Campus, Segal Campus or UBC Sauder Campus in early January.
